How to import short links from a CSV file

CSV import is useful when you already have a list of campaign destinations. The preview lets you check the file before creating links. Importing uses the same account slots and destination checks as creating links one at a time.

Prepare the file

Export a comma-separated CSV using UTF-8 encoding. The file must be no larger than 1 MB. The destination column is required. Optional columns include title, folder, custom_code and the supported utm_* campaign fields. The import page shows the currently configured row limit.

These are example destinations. Replace them with your pages. Leave custom_code blank for automatic codes. Put values containing commas in double quotes using your spreadsheet’s CSV exporter.

Upload and review

Open CSV import in your verified account.
Select the file and inspect the preview.
Check the destinations, custom codes and remaining account slots before confirming.
Fix any reported row or header errors in the source file, then upload the corrected file.

Uploading for preview does not create links. The importer rejects repeated custom codes within the same file and skips identical normalized rows. Similar destinations with different names or campaign parameters are not necessarily duplicates.

Run the import

Confirm the preview to begin. Use the page’s continuation controls to process remaining rows and watch the completed and remaining counts. Keep the page open while it runs. If it stops, reopen the same import job and continue: completed rows do not need to be created again.

An interrupted upstream request can stay pending while its result is reconciled. Wait before changing the file or starting a different job for the same destinations. Re-uploading a changed file is not a substitute for resuming the original job.

Understand limits and errors

An account or daily creation limit can postpone remaining rows. A disallowed destination or an unavailable custom code needs correction. Never assume all links were created simply because the upload succeeded; check the final counts and row statuses.

Check the result before sharing

Open My links, filter by the imported folder and test representative short addresses. Download the import result if you need a record of the outcome. Keep your original CSV until you have checked the destinations and campaign parameters.

Importing destinations does not transfer click history, ownership of another account’s links or existing short addresses from a different service.
